Michael Duderstädt has been GEMA's Director of Political Communications since 2013 and has also been Head of GEMA's Berlin office since 2024. In this dual role, he is responsible for the liaison offices in Berlin and Brussels and represents the political interests of the now more than 100,000 members. Previously, he was Head of Communications & Media Policy at RTL Radio Deutschland, a member of the advisory board of Radiozentrale, a board member of the industry association VPRT (now VAUNET) and Managing Director of the online radio station the wave - relaxing radio. After completing his studies, he began his professional career as a media policy advisor to Angela Merkel at the CDU federal office. He then advised companies on corporate communications, public affairs and crisis communications at the communications agency Pleon.
