Kathlen Jost is program manager at the Cross Innovation Hub of Hamburg Kreativ Gesellschaft and designs and implements formats at the interface between the creative industries, business and the public sector. She also coordinates the pool of creative experts. She specialises in design thinking, creative methods and collaborative innovation processes. Previously, she spent over 15 years as an industrial designer and head of an interdisciplinary design team responsible for design language and strategy.

Disruptive Product Innovations: Shaping Tomorrow with Design Futuring

How does a future trend become a concrete innovation? In this 75-minute masterclass organised by the Cross Innovation Hub, participants are given an understandable, practical introduction to design futuring. After brief insights into relevant trends, they use the "Futures Wheel" to analyse possible effects on markets and society. Building on this, they use tried-and-tested creative methods to develop specific, disruptive product ideas - and learn how even vague but decisive trends can be systematically translated into new business opportunities.

The masterclass is primarily aimed at entrepreneurs from business and the creative industries who want to make strategic use of trends.
