As the lead strategist for sustainable mobility at the BMW Group sustainability strategy, Frank Hansen focuses on holistic sustainable mobility solutions in collaboration with municipal and urban mobility stakeholders. With university partners, he is developing and implementing new approaches to explore demand-based potentials for a sustainable mobility transformation. In 2015, Hansen co-founded the BMW Group Center of Competence for Urban Mobility. From 2004 to 2010, he served as a mobility researcher at the Institute for Mobility Research (ifmo). Previously, Frank Hansen was a mobility researcher and futurist at the Daimler Society and Technology Research Group.

What will the city of tomorrow look like when mobility is rethought? AI, digitalisation and autonomous driving are not only changing the automotive industry, but also everyday life, neighbourhoods and the use of urban spaces. What does this mean for streets, squares and neighbourhoods - and who decides on the new rules of interaction?

This panel brings design, urban planning and politics into dialogue and shows how creative methods translate technological developments into liveable solutions: Less friction, more safety, better participation and more attractive public spaces. The focus is on networked systems, new services and design ideas that use mobility as a lever for urban quality - and turn transformation into real places of the future.
