Commerce, Creativity & AI: Why the Cultural & Creative Industries Need to Take a Stand Now

In his keynote speech, Dieter Gorny, founder of VIVA, cultural manager and political thought leader at the interface between the creative industries and digitalisation, clearly focuses on curiosity: Keeping calm, lamenting less, seizing opportunities. Looking to the UK, he shows how a natural interplay between culture, creativity, economics and politics generates strength.

Gorny counters political inertia, criticises defensive reflexes towards AI and warns: "Don't just let the technology lead this debate, because it's the content that counts – without art and creatives, there is no economy." Instead of complaining about value creation, the cultural and creative industries need to talk boldly about innovation.
