Björn Staschen is co-founder of the non-profit Save Social - Networks For Democracy initiative. The media scientist, journalist and author ("In der Social Media Falle") is in favour of putting the privileges of large tech monopolies to the test and strengthening an alternative information infrastructure. Among other things, Save Social coordinates the "Digital Independence Day" (di.day) – a movement that strengthens digital sovereignty across Europe.

Deepfakes are no longer a future scenario, but rather characterise current debates about elections, disinformation and trust in the media. The growing concern in society shows this: The pressure to act is real. This is precisely where this format comes in: With the exclusive premiere of the documentary "Hirschhausen and the Deepfake Mafia", we are creating a common foundation.

In the subsequent discussion, Kerstin Siebert, Björn Staschen and Eckart von Hirschhausen will talk about responsibility, regulation and the question of how education and humour can help to expose digital deception.
