Creators have long been more than just content producers. They build brands, develop business models, shape communities and influence social discourse. As independent entrepreneurs, they operate at the interface between the creative industries, the platform economy and the formation of public opinion.

The panel will shed light on what entrepreneurship in the creator economy means today and what democratic responsibility goes hand in hand with it. The focus will be on questions of sustainable business models as well as trust, participation and community building: What skills do creators need to be economically successful and socially effective? How are credible personal brands and resilient communities created? What role do platform logics, algorithms and monetisation models play for visibility, discourse quality and a democratic public sphere?

Decoding Political Influence: How Social Media is Redefining Political Communication

Today, an influencer can reach more people than an editorial in the largest German-language daily newspaper, BILD. Our media transformation has fundamentally changed the impact logic of political communication; budgets don't matter for the time being. Those who understand how the algorithms work can gain influence.

This keynote speech decodes in a practical way how this change affects political actors, brands, media and creators, what mechanisms are behind it and what our strategic communication response can look like.
